Whether used with full range, satellite, in-wall, or on-wall speakers, the TDAI-2170 is the perfect choice for any brand or model on the market. Because of its unique technologies, the long-contested challenge of speaker placement no longer compromises performance. On the contrary. Simply place your speakers up against the wall to get the least amount of damaging reflections. From there, RoomPerfect™ will adapt the speaker to the room and remove any unwanted bass boom.
Have a subwoofer? Not a problem. RoomPerfect perfectly aligns the subwoofer and speakers’ frequency response, so differences between peaks and dips in the bass and midrange responses are eliminated. Now, your entire system is integrated and singing.
With the HDMI module, you can connect up to four HDMI devices, including Blu-ray players and other sources, to your TDAI-2170 and have just one HDMI cable to the TV. Simply let the TDAI-2170 be the central hub for all your devices, with no more nests of cables going to and from the TV. Don't settle for the sound coming from your TV´s built-in speakers; it's time for an upgrade.
CEC - The HDMI module is CEC compatible, meaning the TDAI-2170 can automatically turn on and off when your TV or connected HDMI device does. This feature also enables you to use your TV remote to control the volume of the TDAI-2170.
ARC - The HDMI module supports ARC (Audio Return Channel), which sends the audio from the TV to the TDAI-2170 through the HDMI cable. This is the perfect solution if you have a TV with a built-in tuner and you want audio to come from your audio system.
Want to run audio from your Windows, OS X, and Linux computer or other streaming device? This module is the prime solution for your digitally stored music. The High-End USB Audio module will allow for a direct connection from your computer or other streaming device into the TDAI-2170. No external or internal conversion is necessary, thus keeping the stored bit-perfect data in its original form and avoiding degradation of the audio signal. The module accepts high-resolution files up to 384 kHz/32 bit as well as DXD and DSD64 & 128.
Supplementing the standard analog inputs, the High-End Analog Input module is the ideal solution for connecting analog sources of the highest quality. It comprises 3 RCA unbalanced and 1 AES (XLR) balanced inputs. Input selection is carried out via the double gold-plated relays, normally only seen in expensive high-precision measuring equipment. Since analog signal levels can vary considerably, the input sensitivity of each input can be increased by up to 24dB. The sensitivity is adjusted in the pre-amp section before it is fed to the converter, granting full dynamic range for the conversion. The A/D conversion is performed by an AKM-AK5394A processor, which, with a dynamic range of 123dB, has proven its capacity to convert music to the digital domain in many Lyngdorf Audio designs.
When music is being mastered, the level is often very high; upon analysis, you will often find several consecutive maximum samples, indicating something has been clipped away from the original signal. Audio that exceeds 0 dBFS will sound very compressed because the headroom is nonexistent. This harsh sound is an unfortunate trend in the music industry and is typically referred to as “the loudness war.” In order to compensate for this, we have created ICC, the TDAI-2170 can automatically adjust up to 12dB headroom to avoid clipping. Through this you will enjoy the full dynamic range and a more natural sound.
