"If you have the space, these Tannoy floorstanders are an excellent buy. Little else at this price can match their combination of force and finesse ... Most of all they make listening to music fun and that, more than anything else, is the reason why we’re happy to recommend them wholeheartedly."

The largest speaker in the Revolution XT range, the XT 8F brings with its size authoritative bass along with exceptionally well integrated mid and treble supplied courtesy of Tannoy's new dual concentric driver design which features an Omnimagnet motor (the HF and LF drivers share the same magnet for improved timing) as well as a new Torus Ogive Waveguide. The substantial cabinet also hides a hidden feature within - two separate interal cavities are used with tuned porting between them and a port on the bottom, firing down towards the plinth. The plinth itself is more than a simple stabiliser for this weighty speaker, combined with the angled shape of the bottom of the cabinet it serves to direct low frequency energy into the room. This helps to reduce boundary effects and results in a speaker which more flexible placement options. Of course the cabinet is worthy of Tannoy's namesake, sporting a beautiful real wood veneer or a Gloss finish, even little touches like the driver bolts bearing the Tannoy logo shows just how much attention to detail has gone into making these speakers.
