Key Features
The SVS SB-1000 was engineered to challenge the preconceptions surrounding small subwoofers. It packs tremendous power—300 Watts RMS with a 720-Watt peak—into a small MDF cabinet without compromising the depth and clarity of bass performance. A 12-inch front-firing driver with a durable rubber surround is powered by a class D Sledge STA-300D amplifier. Despite all this power in a small space, the SB-1000 is thoroughly safety compliant; thermal management techniques have been utilised without impeding on the subwoofer's sonic inertness.

Due to its small nature, you wouldn’t be alone in underestimating this subwoofer’s power. Initially, the SB-1000 from SVS strikes you as a rather small unit with a classic subwoofer look. And while it is classic looking, the size of this unit is misleading. The 300-Watt (RMS) and 700+ Watts of peak power are highly impressive for such a small subwoofer. What’s more, sounds remain precise and free from heavy distortion at these power levels.
The driving force of the SB-1000 is its front-firing 12-inch driver. This features dual ferrite magnets with high durability and FEA-optimised motor technology for low distortive effect. A rubber surround keeps everything in place and performing well for long periods, even when pushed to upper limits.
Of course, the SB-1000 has been designed with safety in mind too; given so much power is being contained within such a small unit, SVS needed to add a unique vented pole and efficient voice coil to ensure everything was kept cool. This thermal management alongside rigid cabinet bracing have been implemented without adding any unwanted noise; the unit is sonically inert so you never experience rattling at deep bass frequencies.
