Key Features
The HD6 Powered Bluetooth Speakers in Satin Black are flagship speakers from the independent, Texas-based company, Audioengine. Their use of premium materials and custom components, many of which are crafted in-house, make this affordable pair of speakers extremely good value for money.
Bluetooth with an extended range capability allows easy connection and streaming across multiple rooms without diminutive effects. Class AB monoblock power amplifiers with custom tweeters and woofers create a punchy sound. Moreover, gapless core toroidal transformers and a 24-bit upsampling DAC reduce the signal-to-noise ratio for smooth sound without distortion.

The HD6 speakers combine some of Audioengine’s most popular functions so that you get speakers with in-demand features. Bluetooth version 5.0 allows you to stream across any of your favourite platforms such as Spotify, TIDAL, YouTube, and more. Connect your turntable, subwoofer, TV, and other media players with an optical input port.
Specially designed tweeters and woofers contribute to the high-fidelity sound of HD6 speakers. Tough aramid fibre brings strength to the woofers helping them keep their shape even at higher outputs. These, in combination with rubber surrounds and cast aluminium framing keep the speakers rigid for minimal vibration and increase heat dispersion. Improved tweeters facilitate stereo sound separation for accurate reproduction of your favourite music.
The HD6 speakers are constructed using custom-built Audioengine components. Most notable are the tweeters and woofers which are crafted especially with the sonic requirements of the HD6 in mind. What’s more, some components are even crafted in Audioengine’s own factory for greater oversight during the production process. In using custom components, Audioengine demonstrates complete competence in speaker design so you can feel confident with your purchase.
The Bluetooth capabilities of the HD6s go above and beyond their competitors by tripling the standard wireless streaming range. An expanded range lets you continue listening to music as you move between rooms with your Bluetooth-enabled device. With extended range, there sometimes comes weaker signal quality, however, this is not the case with the HD6 speakers. Their antenna and circuitry have been engineered to keep sound quality high even between multiple rooms. This impressive Bluetooth range is complemented by a higher signal-to-noise ratio and lower noise and distortion from an AKM AK4396A digital-to-analogue converter.
The left (powered) speaker is packed with an efficient arrangement of components including power amplifiers and passive crossovers. This means you get great sound without the need for additional amplifiers or stereo receivers which take up more of your money, space, and power.
Audioengine further demonstrates its design ability with premium material selection. Wood veneer cabinets in a sleek satin black colour finish are sturdy, durable, and well-suited to a diverse range of home styles. The veneers chosen are furniture-grade, meaning they will look and perform with the quality you expect from other valued home furnishings. Custom grilles—included with your speakers—conceal and protect the speaker drivers, making the HD6’s even more minimal for greater styling versatility.
