Yamaha's rich pedigree for soundbars and one unit home cinema solutions is common knowledge in the AV industry. The newly-developed Yamaha YAS-101 digital sound projector follows in the footsteps of the best-selling YSP-2200. This slim, one-body solution is a perfect low-cost upgrade to horrifically tinny flatscreen television speakers.

The primary design and thought process from Yamaha into the YAS-101 is for a realistic great-sounding audio from a single sound bar but affordable to just about everyone. Thanks to a pair of 6.5cm cone speakers with a dual driver 7.5cm subwoofer driven by an integrated 120w amp the result is room-filling, lush sound giving an extra bite to a Hollywood blockbuster or rich 2.1 audio to every day TV programs. For movie nights, the Air Surround Extreme setting reproduces awesome 7.1 channel surround sound with clever imaging much more superior to any other sound bars around this price point. You'll be blown away by such an impressive sound field with clear dialogue from the front and sound action from the rear and sides.

The slim, black gloss profile of the YAS-101 means it perfectly blends into a living room environment. Position it just below a TV with the stand provided or alternatively the ultra slim depth of 11.5cm makes it perfect for wall-mounting in tandem with a wall-mounted screen.

The remote control is a breeze to use. With an IR flasher on the rear, it relays the signal from your screen which allows you to operate your TV even if the soundbar is obstructing the sensor. The YAS-101 can also 'learn' your TV's remote control operation so you can then use the TV's remote control to turn the soundbar off and on and adjust the volume. The whole process is refreshingly simple in comparison to complex home cinema amplifers.
