A new app designed for iPhone, iPads and iPod touches now enable wi-fi control over your receiver and six of the latest HDMI® 1.4 inputs allows for simple hook-up of all your high-def sources. HDMI 1.4 also brings compatibility with 3D video formats, as well as an Audio Return Channel from your display back to the receiver. Complementing HDMI on the input front, you have an analog RGB video input for connecting your PC, and a Universal Port for Onkyo peripherals.

The futureready TX-NR609 also offers the convenience of an Audio Return Channel via HDMI. Music Optimizer™ to Enhance Compressed Digital Music Files
While MP3 or AAC files may sound fine through the headphones of your portable digital player, the limitations of these files can be exposed when played back through a quality home entertainment system. This is because a significant amount of highfrequency bit information is lost during the filecompression process. To counter this, Onkyo has designed onboard Music Optimizer technology to compensate for lost bit information and improve the quality of compressed audio signals.
