HDMI v1.3

Higher resolution

HDMI 1.3 supports upto four times resolution than 720p. Resolutions of upto 2560 x 1440p can be achieved when connected between suitable HD sources and displays.

Higher Speed

HDMI 1.3 increases its single-link bandwidth to 340MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support the demands of future HD display devices such as higher resolutions, Deep colour and higher frame rates. In addition, built into v1.3 is the technical foundation that will let future versions of HDMI reach significantly higher speeds.

Higher colour depth

HDMI 1.3 supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) colour depths, up from the 8 bit in previous versions of the HDMI specification, for stunning rendering of over one billion colours in unprecedented detail. Deeper colour eliminates on screen colour banding, for smooth tonal transitions and subtle graduations between colours. It can represent many times more shades of grey between black and white.

Higher refresh rates

HDMI 1.3 supports screen refresh rates upto 120 Hz. This higher rate allows for flawless on screen smooth motions

Lossless audio

HDMI 1.3 adds support for new lossless audio formats such as Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio
